At-home fertility tests
Hormone panels, ovulation monitors, and mail-in sperm analysis you can do at home, with what each one measures and its price. A useful first look, not a substitute for a clinical workup.
- Updated weekly ยท checked 5 d ago
At-home fertility tests measure reproductive hormones, track ovulation, or analyze sperm from home, typically $49 to $159. They are a helpful snapshot, not a diagnosis. For a full evaluation, compare fertility clinics.
A normal result is reassuring, not a guarantee.
A concerning result is a reason to see a fertility clinic, never a conclusion on its own.
At-home tests, compared
What each kit measures, where it comes from, and the price, cheapest first. Diagnostic tests first, then ovulation and cycle trackers, so the two are never conflated.

- SpermCheck FertilityAt-home test

What an at-home test can and cannot do
Four honest points to read a result in context.
- 01
A snapshot of reproductive hormones
Finger-prick or blood-draw panels measure hormones like AMH, FSH, LH, and estradiol that hint at ovarian reserve and how your cycle is working. They suggest a picture; they do not diagnose a cause.
- 02
Ovulation tracking at home
LH strips, PdG (progesterone-metabolite) tests, and reusable hormone monitors help you find your fertile window and confirm that ovulation happened. Timing across a cycle matters, so a single reading tells you little.
- 03
At-home semen analysis
Mail-in or smartphone-based kits estimate sperm count, concentration, and motility from a sample collected at home, a low-friction first check for the sperm side.
- 04
What they cannot do
No at-home test can check your fallopian tubes or uterus, or diagnose infertility. A normal result is reassuring but not a clean bill of health, and any concerning result is a reason to see a clinician, not a conclusion.
