Maven Clinic: how its fertility benefit works and which employers use it
What Maven says about its fertility benefit in its own words, and the large employers whose own benefit pages name it.

Maven is a virtual care app for women and families that employers offer, and its fertility benefit comes in two forms. Maven Wallet gives you access to funds your employer sets aside for eligible expenses such as fertility treatment and preservation, adoption and surrogacy: Maven Green pays by reimbursement, Maven Gold pays partner fertility clinics directly. The Maven Managed Benefit covers a number of cycles or up to a lifetime maximum. Not every employer that offers Maven includes Wallet; your Wallet Program Overview lists what yours covers.
What Maven Clinic says about its benefit
Read on Oct 23, 2026 on its own pages. The words in quotation marks are its own. Your employer decides what your plan includes.
A care app employers offer
Maven calls itself a virtual care app supporting women and families through every stage of life. Its family building benefit can stand alone or add to an employer's existing coverage.
“Maven is a virtual care app that supports women and families through every stage of life”
“Maven can stand alone or enhance existing coverage by offering better access to more inclusive care across all paths to parenthood.”
Maven Wallet: your employer's funds
Wallet gives access to funds your employer sets aside for eligible expenses, which can include fertility treatment and preservation, maternity care, menopause support, childcare, adoption and surrogacy, as your company's policy allows. Not every employer that offers Maven includes Wallet.
“Maven Wallet may give you access to funds from your employer for eligible expenses, which can include: Fertility treatment and preservation Maternity care Menopause support Childcare Adoption Surrogacy”
“As long as the expense is eligible under your company’s policy, Maven Wallet can help cover it.”
“While your employer may offer Maven, not every employer chooses to include Maven Wallet.”
Green or Gold
With Maven Green you are reimbursed. With Maven Gold, fertility care is paid directly to the clinic and other expenses are reimbursed. Your Wallet card shows which you have.
“With Maven Green, you have access to employer funds through reimbursement”
“With Maven Gold, you have access to employer funds through direct payment (for fertility) and reimbursement (for all other expenses).”
“Your card will be either green or gold, with the version listed in the lower right corner.”
The Maven Managed Benefit
A family building benefit with care and coverage, counted as a number of cycles or a lifetime maximum, shown in the Maven app.
“The Maven Managed Benefit delivers comprehensive family building care and coverage to provide employees with proactive clinical support that shapes smarter, safer outcomes.”
“Cycle-based or lifetime max benefits are available within the Maven Clinic app, making it easy for members to understand their coverage and eliminating surprise bills.”
A deductible first on some plans
Depending on your employer's benefit and the expense, IRS rules may require you to meet a minimum deductible before reimbursement: for 2026, $1,700 for an individual and $3,400 for a family. Expenses paid with HSA or FSA funds cannot also be reimbursed.
“Depending on your employer's Maven Wallet benefits and the type of expense you're submitting for reimbursement, IRS rules may require you to pay a minimum amount out of pocket for medical expenses before you can start receiving reimbursements through your employer's Maven Wallet program.”
“For 2026, the minimum deductible is: $1,700 for individuals $3,400 for families”
“Expenses paid for with Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds can't also be reimbursed through Maven Wallet because those funds are already tax-advantaged.”
MavenRx, and Ferring drugs
MavenRx is Maven's fertility pharmacy program with Alto Pharmacy, Freedom Fertility Pharmacy and SMP Pharmacy: your clinic sends the prescription marked MAVEN. Since October 2026 Maven does not reimburse or directly cover Menopur, Endometrin or Novarel bought at the self-pay (uninsured) rate.
“As part of this program, we’re excited to partner with Alto Pharmacy, Freedom Fertility Pharmacy, and SMP Pharmacy to provide high-touch support and a streamlined process throughout your fertility journey.”
“Once you have a fertility care provider, ask your clinic to send your prescription to your preferred MavenRx pharmacy. Be sure they write MAVEN on the prescription.”
“Maven does not provide reimbursement or direct coverage for the following Ferring fertility medications when they are purchased at the self-pay (uninsured) rate: Menopur Endometrin Novarel”
Partner clinics
Maven chooses its partner clinics for clinical standards, success rates and patient experience. With Gold you must use one for fertility and preservation, unless you are already in care elsewhere or live more than 50 miles from one; with Green it is recommended, not required.
“Our Maven Performance Network is made up of partner fertility clinics that have been expertly chosen for their high-quality standards of clinical excellence, success rates, and excellent patient experience”
“Maven Gold members: Yes. To use your Maven Wallet for fertility and/or preservation benefits, you must receive care at a Maven Partner Clinic.”
“Maven Access / Green members: You’re not required to use a Maven Partner Clinic, but we recommend it for quality care and potential savings.”
“You may be eligible for an exception if: You're already receiving care at an out-of-network clinic, or You live more than 50 miles from a Maven Partner Clinic”
Who can use it, and for how long
Some employers require you to be on the company medical plan or employed for a set time, such as 90 days, and you may add a spouse or tax-dependent partner. Wallet lasts until you reach your maximum or leave the job, with a run-out period to submit expenses.
“Some employers set additional requirements for Wallet access. For example, you may need to: Be enrolled in your company’s medical plan, or Reach a certain length of employment (such as 90 days)”
“You may be asked to add a spouse or tax-dependent partner during your Maven Wallet application.”
“until the earliest of the following: You reach your individual coverage maximum Your employment with the company offering Maven benefits ends”
“If your employment ends or your eligibility status changes, you’ll still have a run-out period to submit expenses.”
Its care team
24/7 access to providers across 30+ specialties, including reproductive endocrinologists and adoption and surrogacy coaches, and a person who helps you choose specialists and navigate your benefits.
“Members have 24/7 access to providers across 30+ specialties, including reproductive endocrinologists, mental health providers, nutritionists, adoption and surrogacy coaches”
