What Gaia says
The words in quotation marks are the lender's own.
One price, one bill
You pay Gaia once, or monthly if you finance, and Gaia pays the clinic, the pharmacy and other providers.
“you pay Gaia once (or monthly, if financing), and we take care of all the individual bills from your clinic, pharmacy, and other providers throughout treatment”
Financing
The plan can be financed in full or in part. Its only published rate is an egg freezing example at its best credit tier.
“You can pay upfront in full or apply for financing to cover all or part of your plan and pay monthly.”
“$150 per month based on $7,000 financed over 60 months at 10% APR. APR and term shown is for best credit. Actual rate and terms will vary depending on your credit.”
What it protects
A second egg retrieval at no charge if the first produces no viable embryos; it says it gives no blanket money-back guarantee.
“For IVF, a second retrieval cycle at no charge if your first doesn't produce viable embryos, saving you $15,000 or more.”
What it leaves out
The first consultation and diagnostic tests are not part of the plan.
“Gaia plan coverage typically begins day 1 of your stimulation medication. Your initial consultation and diagnostics are not covered.”
How Gaia is paid
Gaia says its partner lenders pay it when you take out a loan with them.
“This compensation is paid to Gaia by the affiliate or partner when you take out your loan.”
What $25,000 would cost with Gaia
$25,000 is a typical all-in IVF cycle on our cost model. The payments are arithmetic on Gaia's published terms, not an offer.
| At | Months | A month | Repaid in all |
|---|---|---|---|
| Its published example rate, 10% | 60 | $531 | $31,871 |
Most families need 2.3 to 2.7 cycles, so a loan sized to one cycle can run out mid-treatment. Where a lender takes an origination fee out of the loan, you receive less than you borrow: size the loan to the bill plus the fee.
What would a loan cost each month?
- Monthly payment
- $595
- Total interest
- $10,685
- Total repaid
- $35,685
Standard fixed-rate arithmetic. Many personal lenders also take an origination fee (0% to about 10%) out of the loan, so you receive less than you borrow; the APR a lender quotes already counts it.
