Egg Freezing Cost in 2026: What 112 US Clinics Post

2026-10-04 · 38 min read · IVFcost.co

Every US fertility clinic location that posts its own egg freezing price, with what that price includes and what it leaves out.

Only 112 of the 452 CDC-reporting US fertility clinic locations post a price for egg freezing on their own websites: 24.8%. That is fewer than post a price for an IVF cycle, which 33.2% do in our September price census, even though egg freezing is the treatment people most often pay for entirely themselves. Spring Fertility's own price table puts it plainly: egg freezing is "very rarely covered, unless you have fertility-specific benefits" ( Spring Fertility).

We read every location's own website on October 4, 2026, and kept a price only when the clinic states it as its own current fee for freezing a patient's own eggs at that location. Each kept price was then checked against the clinic's page twice: the exact amount had to appear on the page, and a second, independent reading confirmed what the amount buys. The full list is below, by state, each price with what it includes and what costs extra.

For context, a complete egg freezing cycle in the US typically runs $12,000 to $20,000 all-in once medications are counted, and many people need more than one cycle to bank enough eggs. Our egg freezing guide explains how many eggs to aim for at each age and how the process works. This article is about the number clinics show you before the first consultation, and how much of the bill it covers.

Key findings

  • One in four clinics posts a price. 112 of 452 locations (24.8%, 95% confidence interval 21.0% to 29.0%) post an egg freezing price; 312 post none, and for 28 we could not settle it.
  • Fewer than post an IVF price. Of the 150 locations that post an IVF price, 88 also post one for egg freezing. Of the 287 that post no IVF price, only 24 post an egg freezing price.
  • The busiest programs post most. Among clinics that reported 91 or more egg and embryo banking cycles to the CDC for 2022, 35.7% post a price, against 16.7% of clinics reporting fewer than 13. Clinics that post a price performed 40% of all banking cycles the CDC counted (15,812 of 39,883).
  • The big names split. CCRM posts one price range at all 15 of its locations, and Spring Fertility and CNY Fertility post at all of theirs. Kindbody (15 locations), Shady Grove Fertility (9), RMA (7) and Boston IVF (6) post no amount at any location we could read.
  • Medications are almost never included. Only 10 of the 112 prices include the stimulation drugs; the clinics' own estimates for them run from $2,500 to $10,800.
  • Storage keeps billing. 45 prices include some storage, usually the first year, and 24 clinic websites post a yearly storage fee between $400 and $1,250.
  • Prices are not comparable at a glance. They run from $2,500 for a cycle that leaves out medications and monitoring to $16,000 and $18,000 at two California clinics whose packages bundle far more, which is why we list them and never rank or average them.

How we counted

We started from the same 452 clinic locations as our IVF price census: every clinic in the CDC's national assisted reproductive technology (ART) data that has not closed ( CDC). According to that data, 454 of 457 clinics offer egg freezing, so nearly every location below could quote you a price if you asked.

For each location we looked for one thing: a price the clinic itself states for egg freezing, on its own website.

OutcomeLocationsWhat it means
Posts a price112The clinic's own site states what it charges for egg freezing: a cycle or package fee, a "starting at" price, an average of its own fees, or a range for its own cycle
No price posted312We read the clinic's pricing, financing and egg freezing pages, and none states an egg freezing price
Could not be settled28The clinic's site blocked every reader we used (RMA of New York, the busiest egg freezing program in the CDC data, is one), or the location could not be tied to the website that states a price

What does not count. A figure from a directory, cost guide or news article never counts, and neither does a general statement about what egg freezing costs, even on a clinic's own blog. We also left out offers that ended, prices that only some patients can get (an egg donor program, a residents' discount) and old documents the clinic no longer shows: Shady Grove Fertility's $7,800 appears only in a July 2022 PDF, and its $7,500 only in a 2013 article, while its current egg freezing cost page states no amount.

How each price was checked. A first reading searched each clinic's site for its egg freezing price. We then fetched every cited page ourselves and kept a price only if that exact amount appears on it, and a second, independent reading of the page confirmed that it is this clinic's own, current price for egg freezing at this location. Eighteen sites block automated readers from our servers, so we read those pages through a US-based reader and quoted the clinic's own words. A second reading also re-read every page for what the price includes, and where the two readings differed we read the page ourselves. The same checks found and removed a mistake in our IVF data along the way: one Spring Fertility location showed the New York tab's IVF price instead of California's.

Networks. When a network states one price for all its locations, every location gets that price. CCRM's egg freezing cost page gives a single range for the network, so its 15 locations share it. When a network posts different prices by state or city, as Spring Fertility, Aspire Fertility and Pinnacle Fertility do, each location gets its own.

Fewer clinics post an egg freezing price than an IVF price

You might expect the opposite. Egg freezing is a single, well-defined service (stimulation, retrieval and freezing), it is usually paid out of pocket, and it is often chosen months ahead by people comparing clinics. Yet egg freezing prices are rarer than IVF prices on clinic websites.

The overlap shows where the gap sits. 88 locations post both prices, and 58 post an IVF price but no egg freezing price. Only 24 locations post an egg freezing price without an IVF price. So for most clinics, posting an egg freezing price is something done alongside IVF pricing, not instead of it. A clinic that keeps its IVF price behind a consultation almost always does the same for egg freezing: of the 287 locations without an IVF price, only 24 (8.4%) post an egg freezing price.

Where you live matters. California has the most posting locations (25 of 85), followed by New York (14 of 44), Texas and Florida (8 each). 28 states have at least one clinic that posts a price, and in six states with five or more clinic locations, none does: Alabama, Hawaii, Kansas, Maryland, Nevada and Wisconsin. Your state's clinic page lists every clinic near you, with each clinic's posted IVF price where there is one.

The busiest egg freezing programs post prices most often

The CDC counts how many egg and embryo banking cycles each clinic performs, the cycles in which eggs or embryos are frozen for later use ( CDC ART data, 2022). It is the closest public measure of how much egg freezing a clinic does, and we show it on every clinic page. Splitting clinics into four equal groups by that count, the busiest quarter (91 or more cycles a year) posts a price more than twice as often as the quietest quarter.

That makes the picture better for patients than the clinic count suggests. The clinics that post an egg freezing price performed 15,812 of the 39,883 banking cycles the CDC counted for 2022, or 40%. Of the 20 busiest programs, 10 post a price:

Networks split the same way. CCRM posts a range at every location, Spring Fertility posts a price for each state it works in, and CNY Fertility posts one package price at both of its clinics. Kindbody, which a 2019 article reposted on its own site described as offering egg freezing packages from around $6,000 ( Kindbody), now lists only its $300 consultation on its pricing page. Shady Grove Fertility, RMA and Boston IVF post no egg freezing amount at any location we could read.

What a posted egg freezing price includes

Every posted price covers the core of a cycle: the egg retrieval and the freezing. Around it, four items decide how far the bill travels, and the clinics treat each one differently.

Medications are the biggest gap. Only 10 of the 112 prices include the stimulation drugs, and 82 say they are extra. The drugs are the most variable part of the bill, which is why clinics leave them out, and the clinics' own estimates show the range: $3,000 to $5,000 at Spring Fertility and Extend Fertility, $2,500 to $5,000 at Life IVF Center, $3,000 to $7,000 at Conceptions Fertility Center in Utah and $4,000 to $10,800 across CCRM. Our medications guide explains what each drug in a stimulation protocol does.

The prices that do include medications are worth a close look, because they are the closest thing to a complete cycle price: CNY Fertility's $5,999 package (based on about 10 days of stimulation), Pozitivf at $6,995 with the first year of storage, five Pinnacle Fertility clinics at $7,550 to $8,750 depending on the state, Fertility Answers in Louisiana at $10,000 to $15,000, and HRC Fertility at $16,000 with medications and a year of storage.

Monitoring is usually in, but not always. The ultrasounds and blood tests during stimulation are included in 56 prices, while 10 charge for them separately, and these are mostly the lowest posted prices. New Hope Fertility Center states its $2,500 cycle "not including medication or monitoring", and Hudson Valley Fertility's $3,000 package leaves out ultrasound monitoring, blood work and medications.

Anesthesia is split. 31 prices include it and 41 bill it separately, such as CCRM ($525 to $1,400) and Life IVF Center ($750 for IV sedation).

Storage is where prices differ most in shape. 45 prices include some storage: 30 a full year, 3 six months, 2 one month and 2 five years ( Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine stores eggs free for five years, then charges $400 a year), while 8 do not say for how long. Another 42 bill storage separately.

Where the posted prices fall

Counting each website's price once, most posted prices sit between $5,000 and $10,000, with 18 between $10,000 and $12,499 and three above that. The chart is a spread, not a guide to what you will pay, because the prices cover different things.

The lowest posted prices are partial prices. Each one leaves out something a cycle needs:

That does not make them poor value. A clinic that prices each step separately can still cost less in total, and several of these clinics specialize in lower-dose protocols that use fewer drugs. It means the headline price is the start of a quote, and the same is true at every price level.

From posted price to total: a worked example

A posted price is the first line of a bill. Here is how far the total travels using only the fees one clinic posts itself. At Spring Fertility in California, one egg freezing cycle is $10,500 when paid in full, with monitoring, procedures, anesthesia and lab work included ( Spring Fertility). Spring's own table adds medications at $3,000 to $5,000, for a total of $13,500 to $15,500 per cycle. Its yearly egg storage fee is $950, so keeping the eggs for five years adds $4,750. If you need a second cycle to bank enough eggs, the cycle cost repeats.

That is our arithmetic on the clinic's posted fees, not a quote, and the same exercise at a clinic with a lower headline price can land in a similar place once its excluded items are added. Compare totals, not headlines.

Storage: the fee that keeps running

Egg freezing has a cost that IVF mostly does not: you keep paying as long as the eggs stay frozen. Among the clinics that post a storage fee, the yearly amount runs from $400 (Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine, after five free years) to $1,250 (Spring Fertility in New York), with most between $600 and $950:

Yearly storage feeClinics posting it
$400 to $500Florida Institute for Reproductive Medicine ($400 after 5 free years), Cooper Institute ($500), Fertility Answers ($500)
$600 to $750InVia Fertility, Katie Ostrom MD, Shore Institute (Morgan Fertility), Olympia Fertility ($600 each); Mississippi Reproductive Medicine ($650); New England Fertility Institute ($700); Poma Fertility ($720); Life IVF Center, Main Line Fertility, Mid-Iowa Fertility ($750 each)
$800 to $950CARE Fertility, Extend Fertility (a 1-year storage plan), Reproductive Sciences Medical Center, Specialists in Reproductive Medicine & Surgery, The IVF Center, Tree of Life Center ($800 each); Washington Fertility Center ($900); Spring Fertility California ($950)
$1,000 to $1,250Advanced Fertility Center of Chicago, Denver Fertility Care ($1,000 each); New Hope Fertility Center ($1,200); Spring Fertility New York ($1,250)

At $800 a year, ten years of storage costs $8,000, more than many posted cycle prices. Ask how long the price includes storage, what it costs after that, and whether prepaying several years lowers it.

Multi-cycle plans, discounts and payment plans

Because many people need more than one cycle, some clinics price several cycles together or discount later ones:

Discounts for some patients. RMA Los Angeles offers 20% off self-pay packages, egg freezing included, to teachers, military members and first responders. Generation Next Fertility offers free freezing in a 50/50 program in which half the eggs retrieved are donated, and the Reproductive Medicine Institute in Illinois charges $4,700 for medical residents and fellows. Because only some patients can get them, these prices are not counted in our census.

Paying over time. Spring Fertility offers an in-house plan for egg freezing at under $300 a month for one cycle, medications not included, and CNY Fertility advertises its package from $167 a month. Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists charges $6,000 for one cycle plus $99 a month for storage. For loans, refund programs and grants, see our guide to paying for treatment and the IVF grants finder.

Every clinic that posts an egg freezing price

These are the 112 locations, by state and then city. Each price is exactly as the clinic states it, read on its own page on October 4, 2026. "Included" and "Charged on top" cover the four items that move the bill most (medications, monitoring, anesthesia and storage) as the page states them; "Not stated" means the page does not say. The list is not a ranking, and a lower price does not mean a lower total.

How to compare egg freezing quotes

  1. Ask every clinic for a written, itemized estimate. If you are paying yourself, US law gives you the right to one: under the No Surprises Act, a provider must give you a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges if you ask for one or schedule care at least three business days ahead, and you need it if you later dispute a bill ( CMS).
  2. Check the four items in every quote: medications (and whose estimate), monitoring, anesthesia, and storage (how long it is included and the yearly fee after).
  3. Ask what happens if a cycle is cancelled or few eggs are retrieved, and whether a second cycle is discounted.
  4. Ask how many cycles you are likely to need. That depends mostly on your age and ovarian reserve; our egg freezing guide and AMH levels by age explain both.
  5. Look at the program's experience. The number of banking cycles each clinic reports to the CDC is on its clinic page.
  6. Check your coverage first. Elective egg freezing is rarely covered, but 21 states require some insurance coverage of fertility preservation when a medical treatment such as chemotherapy threatens fertility ( RESOLVE), and employer fertility benefits may pay for it. Our insurance guide covers each state's law.

Common questions

How much does egg freezing cost in the US? Clinics that post a price list between $2,500 and $18,000 for a cycle, but the low prices leave out monitoring or medications. Counting medications, a full cycle typically costs $12,000 to $20,000, and storage adds $400 to $1,250 a year. See our egg freezing guide for the all-in breakdown.

Why do so few clinics post an egg freezing price? The clinics do not say. The cost of a cycle depends on the medication dose, which depends on your tests, so many clinics quote after a consultation. But 112 locations, including several of the busiest programs, show that a clear starting price with stated inclusions is possible.

Is egg freezing cheaper than IVF? For one cycle, usually: at 84 of the 88 locations that post both prices, the egg freezing price is lower, because it skips fertilization, embryo culture and the transfer. Using the eggs later means paying for thawing, fertilization and a transfer, so compare the whole path with your doctor. Our IVF cost guide shows what IVF cycles cost.

Does the price include storage? In 45 of the 112 posted prices, yes, for a period (usually the first year). Ask how long, and what each year costs after.

Methodology and limits

  • Who: the 452 CDC-reporting US clinic locations that have not closed, the same set as our IVF price census.
  • When: every website was read on October 4, 2026. Prices change, and a posted price is not a quote.
  • What counts: a price the clinic states as its own, current fee for freezing a patient's own eggs, open to self-pay patients, for this location (or one price for the whole network). The amount had to appear on the cited page; pages that block automated readers from our servers were read through a US-based reader.
  • What it includes: read from each clinic's page by two independent readings and by hand where they differed. "Not stated" means the page does not say, not that the item is excluded.
  • Not settled: 28 locations, mostly sites that blocked every reader. They are not counted as posting or not posting; counting only settled locations, 26.4% post a price.
  • Volumes: banking cycle counts are the CDC's 2022 clinic data, the latest published.
  • No ranking: we never average or rank posted prices, because the packages differ too much. If you see a price here that a clinic has changed, tell us and we will re-check it.

This census reflects clinic websites as read on October 4, 2026. Prices, packages and discounts change often, so confirm the current figure and what it covers with the clinic before you book.
